General service
How Iron Gate reviews ordinary home and property requests before scope, timing, and materials are confirmed.
What kinds of work are a good fit for Iron Gate?
Iron Gate reviews practical repairs, mounting and assembly, doors and hardware, caulking and weatherproofing, recurring maintenance, permanent exterior lighting, property preparation, cleanup, and selected home-support improvements. Every request is checked against the actual property, current service scope, access, materials, and any need for a specialty or regulated trade.
Can several small tasks be combined in one request?
Yes. List each task separately with its room or exterior location, current condition, desired result, and priority. Iron Gate can review which items fit together, which need different materials or preparation, and which should be referred. Combining the list does not automatically make every item accepted scope or a single-visit promise.
How are price and timing confirmed?
Residential plan prices are listed in full. Other work depends on the task, materials, access, property conditions, and timing. Share any real deadline or milestone when you call or email. Iron Gate will review the details and explain the next step before you make a commitment.

Handyman
Planning questions for contained repairs, installations, hardware, walls, trim, and household task lists.
Should I buy materials before submitting a handyman request?
You may share a selected product or ask Iron Gate to review the choice before purchase. Include the model, dimensions, instructions, desired finish, and photos of the location. Confirming compatibility, hardware, wall construction, and who will purchase materials first can prevent delays and unnecessary returns.
When is a minor repair no longer a handyman item?
A contained surface or hardware concern may be reviewable, but active moisture, recurring staining, structural movement, heat, burning or gas odor, unsafe electrical behavior, hazardous materials, major damage, or a regulated system calls for an appropriate specialist. Iron Gate does not cover a diagnostic condition with a patch simply because the visible area is small.
Will a drywall, caulk, trim, or paint repair be invisible?
A perfect match is not always possible. Texture, sheen, age, lighting, surrounding wear, movement, product availability, preparation, and repair size all affect the result. Describe what must coordinate and provide any known paint or product details so Iron Gate can set a realistic finish expectation before work begins.

Permanent exterior lighting
Property, product, control, installation, and service questions that must be answered before a lighting scope is final.
What should I include in a permanent-lighting request?
Send wide daylight photos of the desired elevations, closer views of potential attachment areas, the main viewing direction, everyday lighting goals, optional event uses, and any known access or power information. Final recommendations still depend on the selected system, surface condition, safe access, routing, controls, and regulated-work review.
Which colors, zones, controls, ratings, or warranties are included?
Features, component ratings, controls, zones, color options, connectivity, replacement parts, and warranties vary by system. Iron Gate checks current product documentation and the written project details so you know exactly what the selected system can do before installation.
Does permanent lighting include all electrical work?
No blanket electrical scope is promised. Existing power, new power needs, equipment location, routing, permits, inspections, and any line-voltage or other regulated work must be reviewed for the property. When qualified-trade involvement is required, that responsibility and coordination should be explicit before the installation scope is accepted.

Realtor and property support
Organized support for listings, inspection-response items, turnovers, vacant properties, and owner-authorized task lists.
What does a Realtor Priority Request mean?
It gives real estate professionals an organized way to share the property, milestone, access plan, decision authority, priorities, and relevant documents. Iron Gate considers the timing when scheduling, then confirms what can be handled and when. Final inspection approval and transaction decisions remain with the appropriate parties.
Can I submit an inspection report or repair addendum?
Yes. Email only the pages that relate to the requested work and remove financial, identity, health, and unrelated tenant information first. Iron Gate uses the report to organize the repair discussion, then confirms which items fit the agreed work. The original inspector or appropriate specialist remains responsible for formal findings and approvals.
Is a vacant-property check the same as an inspection or security service?
No. A property check covers the visible observations and tasks listed in the agreement. It is not a licensed home inspection, code review, environmental assessment, security system, or emergency response service. Iron Gate confirms access, visit frequency, documentation, and who receives updates before checks begin.

Cleanup and exterior work
How to describe volume, access, removal authority, disposal expectations, and visible exterior needs.
What information helps with a cleanout or seasonal cleanup request?
Provide wide photos, closer views where useful, a practical size comparison, access details, stairs or gates, parking, ground conditions, and a clear list of what stays and what may be removed. Identify the person authorized to make disposal decisions. Photos support initial review but do not guarantee load count, price, schedule, or acceptance.
Are hauling, disposal, dump fees, and materials included?
Hauling, disposal, dump fees, and materials are priced after Iron Gate reviews the volume, material type, removal authority, local restrictions, loading access, and disposal method. Hazardous handling, major demolition, large-scale hauling, and unlimited disposal are not included in a standard cleanup request.
What cleanup conditions may need another provider?
Hazardous materials, biohazards, remediation, major demolition, large-scale hauling, heavy tree work, excavation, drainage correction, chemical application, and environmental concerns need a suitable specialist. Describe the visible condition without disturbing questionable material, and Iron Gate will help identify the right next step.

Aging-in-place and family coordination
Respectful property-focused planning for older adults, families, caregivers, and authorized representatives.
Can a family member or caregiver coordinate the request?
Yes, when the resident's preferences, lawful access, primary contact, and decision authority are clear. Share only the property condition, requested use, product details, and communication information needed for the work. Diagnoses, medications, medical records, and unrelated financial or personal information are not needed for a home-maintenance request.
How is grab-bar or handrail placement decided?
Placement and fastening depend on how the resident will use the support, the room or route, product instructions, wall or stair construction, nearby fixtures or utilities, and clearances. Iron Gate reviews those conditions at the property. For medical recommendations or formal accessibility certification, consult the appropriate qualified professional.
Can Iron Gate replace smoke or carbon-monoxide detectors?
Yes, when the replacement is compatible and the work fits the service. Device type, location, power, interconnection, manufacturer instructions, and current requirements all matter. Iron Gate reviews those details and will recommend a qualified electrical or safety professional when the work goes beyond a straightforward replacement.

How to confirm service availability for your Mahoning Valley property.
Where is Iron Gate Home Services based?
Iron Gate Home Services is based in Canfield, Ohio, and serves listed communities across Mahoning, Columbiana, and Trumbull counties. Call or email with your address and requested work to confirm availability for the property.
Does a listed community guarantee that my project is accepted?

What if my community is not listed?
Call or email with the address and requested work. Iron Gate will check travel and service fit and give you a direct answer. Nearby properties may be considered even when the community is not currently listed.

Requesting service
What to have ready when you call or email Iron Gate about your property.
What makes a service request useful?
Share the property location, your role, each task and room or exterior area, the current condition, desired result, priority, timeframe, access constraints, and any selected product. Wide and close photos often help. Do not send unrelated financial, identity, health, tenant, or household information.
Are the online forms accepting live requests now?
Online forms are not accepting requests right now. Call 330-360-3253 or email chris@ighomeservices.com to discuss your property. Share the location, what you need handled, and your timing, and Iron Gate will guide the next step.
Does submitting a request guarantee service, price, or timing?
No. A request begins review and does not guarantee acceptance, availability, an appointment, a price, a completion date, or a particular outcome. Iron Gate must confirm the property, scope, access, materials, trade boundaries, and current scheduling. Any accepted work and customer responsibilities should be documented separately.
A property-specific answer
The right answer may be a question about the actual home.
Photos, measurements, products, access, the requested result, and visible warning signs can change what belongs in a practical scope. Online delivery remains closed until its security and recipient controls pass production testing.
